| The Can-Am Baker Doubles Classic traveled to Westland Bowl in Westland where 57 teams vied for the top prize of $1,400. When the smoke cleared, the team of Jeff Hicks and Craig Nidiffer outlasted another great field by defeating Darrel Thibeault and Norm Dominguez in the championship match 236-177. The final match was tight until the fifth, where a missed 9 pin by the Thibeault/Dominguez team proved costly. Hicks and Nidiffer capitalized took full advantage to win the match going away. High qualifiers for the 8 game qualifying were Brandon Dale and Terry Haines with a score of 1724. The cut score to make the elimination round was 1552. The next tournament on the schedule will be February 24th at Taylor Lanes in Taylor. This is event is our only open event of the year, no average cap. |
