| Wayne Bowl in Wayne was the host for our second Can Am Baker Doubles event this winter season. Scores were high as it took an 8 game qualifying score of 1814 to make the elimination round. Nick Wissinger and Aaron Lorincz led the way with an impressive 1926 qualifying round score. The elimination rounds provided a lot of excitement, most notably round 3 when the team of Trey Raynes and Branden Dale left a pocket 7-10 in the 10h frame fill ball for 202. This meant Harry Sullins needed to strike out to make it to the next round with partner Rick Vittone. Sullins threw all three strikes for 203 to move on to the next round. Sullins and Vittone used that momentum to make it to the final match against qualifying leaders Nick Wissinger and Aaron Lorincz. Only a few qualifying leaders have gone on to win the tournament, but Wissinger and Lorincz breazed to 246-201 victory and the 1st place prize of $1,000. Sullins and Vittone settled for the 2nd place prize of $500. Out next Can Am Baker Doubles tournament will be held at Oak Lanes on November 6th, starting time 12:15. This will be our annual Over 50 / Under 50 scratch tournament. This is a scratch event, no average cap. |
