| RESULTS FOR 11-06-2010 OAK LANES |
| Oak Lanes in Westland was the host for our annual Over 50 / Under 50 scratch tournament. Scores were very good as it took an 8 game qualifying score of 1818 to make the elimination round. Ron Napiewocki and Al Amella led the way with an impressive 1915 qualifying round score. Terry Haines and Rick Wayne were second with a 1906 qualify score which included the only 300 game of the tournament. Scores cooled off in the elimination rounds, including the championship match. The #1 and #2 seeds were eliminated in rounds 2 and 6 respectively, giving way to a couple powerhouse teams in Jeff Roche and Gerald Johnson against Troy Stus and Larry Walker. The championship match was all about the left lane. Both Johnson and Stus found strikes nearly impossible while their partners had no problem striking on the right lane. The match came down to the 10th frame. Johnson spared in the 10th with a 6 count fill ball giving Walker a chance to close out the match with a strike. Walker came up high leaving the 4-7 giving Johnson and Roche a 194-187 victory and the first place prize of $1,200. Walker and Stus settled for second place and $600. Out next Can Am Baker Doubles tournament will be held at Van Dyke Bowl on November 27th, starting time 11:00. Please note the early start time!!
