| Plaza Lanes in Plymouth was the host for the first of two Can Am Baker Doubles tournaments in the month of February. Craig Nidiffer and Doug Mazurco, winners of our last tournament at Bowl One, were looking to win back to back titles. They faced a couple veterans of the Can Am Baker Doubles, Ken Wyatt and Jimmy Lauricella, looking for their first title as a team. The final match wasn't close as Wyatt and Lauricella started with the first six strikes in a 236-168 win taking home the first place prize of $1,200. Nidiffer and Mazurco took home $700 for their second place finish. Another good turnout at Plaza as 42 teams vied for the title. John Buffa and Ryan Van Hecke led the qualifiying with a score of 1921, which included two 300 games. Mark Moore and Fred Bauss recorded the other 300 game rolled during the qualifying round. It took an eight game qualifying score of 1717 to make the elimination finals. Our next tournament will be held at Taylor Lanes in Taylor on Saturday, February 28, starting time 12:15. This event is an Open event, no average cap. |
