| Can-Am Baker Doubles Classic Rules for 2007-08 |

| 1) The tournament will consist of a two person team, bowling 8 games on different pairs of lanes using the Baker system of scoring. Each team member will stay on the odd/even lane for the entire qualifying round, anchoring every other game. 2) Team averages may not exceed 425. Each member will determine their average by using a composite of all sanctioned leagues for the last three seasons bowled (exclude any sport condition leagues, summer leagues, or any fall leagues with less than 21 games). Any bowler not having an average over the past three years will be rated for an average based on historical information and the current season. Any bowler reporting an incorrect average will be subject to disqualification. Rule 319a-2 of the USBC rulebook will apply. Rule 319e is waived. 2a) In the event of a disqualification, all funds paid and earned by that team will be forfeited. 3) The tournament directors reserve the right to re-rate or refuse entry to any bowler or team prior to the start of bowling. However, if the adjusted average is not accepted by the bowler(s), the entry fee shall be refunded. 4) Two current PBA members may not participate on the same team unless it is an open average tournament. 5) The Can-Am Baker Doubles Classic is a USBC sanctione tournament. All bowlers participating must have a curent sanction card and be a member in good standing. 6) The entry fee for a team is $120 ($100 goes directly to the prize fund and is paid out 100%). 7) One in four teams will cash and qualify for "Survival Elimination". 8) "Survival Elimination" - The number of teams eliminated from each round will be announced prior to the start of "Survival Elimination". The last two teams remaining will bowl one game to determine the champion. In the event of a tie, a 9th and 10th frame roll off will continue until a winner is determined. 9) Grand Finals - The format for this event will be 10 game qualifier (2 five game blocks). One in four teams will qualify for the final rounds. Teams will bowl "Survival Elimination" until there are five teams remaining. At that point the remaining teams will bowl in stepladder format to determine the champion. The final five teams will be seeded by a total score of their qualifying and "Survival Elimination" games. 10) Scorecards must be filled out completely and accurately. Any team not turning in or totaling their scorecard correctly will be subject to disqualification. 11) The tournament directors may disqualify or assess a fine to any individual or team causing misconduct. 12) Although there is no formal dress code, Grand Finals excluded, proper attire would be appreciated. For the stepladder finals, dress slacks and a bowling shirt, either collared or a mock, are required. No t-shirts are allowed. 13) Grand Final qualifying - Any team or individual that has participated in at least two Can-Am tournaments or has cashed in at least one during the current season, will be eligible to participate in the Grand Finals. 14) Those bowlers who have qualified for the Grand Finals may use any partner they choose with the following conditions: a) Cannot exceed the 425 average rule b) The bowler chosen must have competed in at least two 2006-07 tournaments. 15) Any score corrections must be made by either a tournament director or a bowling center staff member. 16) Any bowler(s) found cheating will be automatically disqualified from competition and be subject to suspension from the USBC. 17) Two re-racks per team per game are allowed. Any further re-racksmust be approved by a tournament director. Any re-racks after the second without approval will be counted as zero for that frame. 18) Lane assignments will be drawn at the time of check in. 19) Any bowling ball that is challenged will be weighed for its legality. In the event the bowling ball in question is found illegal in any way, the scores thrown with that ball will be counted as zero. 20) In the "Survival Elimination" rounds, a team may choose the bowler to anchor each game. 21) All bowlers must fill out an averag verification form prior to bowling in their first tournament of the current season. 22) Any rules not covered in these by-laws will be govered by USBC rules. |
